Welcome Sam

Sam Sutherland has officially joined the #xamfam !

Sam has over 17 years of experience in the Software Development industry, working primarily with Microsoft technologies on the .Net Stack, and a couple of different flavoured slices of SQL. Sam leads, develops, mentors, and engage strong and capable development teams that support and encourage each other. He has grown teams rapidly in order to meet delivery deadlines on challenging projects to large customers, and he does it with a ‘get it done’ attitude and a calm and patient leadership style.

Ever since the ‘world wide web’, Sam has wanted to pursued a career in Software development as he had a need to ‘get under the hood’ of tech and understand how everything worked. He studied computing at school and FE level, after a short stint at an internet bookshop and some time away from studying, Sam completed his degree in computing. Sam believes that “The great thing about our industry is that it is constantly evolving, which means there is always something new and always something to be learned. It’s impossible to get bored of programming!”

What excites Sam even more though these days, is enabling his teams to learn, improve their skills and help others step up. He puts quality first and puts trust in people. With those things in place, guidance provided, and roadblocks removed, we cannot help but produce amazing, innovative, and quality software. Believing in people is great for them and it’s great for the organisation. I’ve been told Sam literally changed people’s lives for the better. What could be more awesome than that?!
